Botanica is a sustainability related project in the form of a publication for Linnaeus University in Växjö, Sweden.

The initiative came along during my internship at the executive office at LNU, when I was asked to work on the field of social sustainability and on the improvement of the communication between students and staff.

The project is currently being sponsored by the Sustainability Coordinators of LNU, who take on the printing expenses.

Botanica was founded in June 2017 and since then has grown an audience on campus and outside.

I am the founder, editor and graphic designer for this project, but the board has recently expanded and now counts six members.

The first issue was distributed in September 2017, under the theme "Structures", which you can read by clicking here.

The aim of Botanica is to involve students and make their ideas and projects relevant, to then be broadcasted and become accessible anywhere in the world.

Botanica is a platform open for creativity and welcomes all kinds of expressions, whether it is a project brief, the description of an experience, a poem, or anything else.

This is in itself is a representation of the social sustainable approach which is very important to the multicultural reality of LNU.

The publication is issued every other month and follows a different theme each time. Students are invited to look at the different topics creatively and make connections of their own, also by using their preferred way to express themselves.
